The Watauga River in Northeast Tennessee is one of the finest cold water fisheries east of the Mississippi River. The river is 19 miles long and dam controlled. It is managed by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Trout species that are managed in this area are Rainbow. Brook and Brown. Several types of bass and various non-game species are also available. The lower portion of the Watauga has been designated by TWRA as a “Quality Trout Zone” Which is also where our lodge is located.
