Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian National Scenic Trail (A.T.), an approximately 2,190 mile footpath that follows the Appalachian range from Georgia to Maine, winds through some of the most breathtaking mountain scenery in East Tennessee. 94 miles of the trail are in Tennessee, with a number of additional miles being located along the North Carolina/Tennessee state line. Multiple access points throughout Carter County allow for out-and-back hikes and provide paths to many attractions.
