Take in the Independence Day festivities at Roan Mountain State Park this year. The rangers have organized quite a few ways to celebrate with friends and family while staying with them on the mountain.

9:00 AM Independence Day Celebration – It’s an Independence Field Day! Come meet SIRs Bailey and Chloe at the Park Amphitheater past the Group Camp to enjoy loads of activities all throughout the day. Fun for all ages!
9:00 AM BICYCLE PARADE FROM CAMP STORE THROUGH CAMPGROUND – Meet at the Camp Store.
10:30 AM Kickball – Meet at the Amphitheater
11:00 AM Egg Relay – Meet at the Amphitheater
11:30 AM Sack Races – Meet at the Amphitheater
12:00 PM Hula Hoop Competition – Meet at the Amphitheater
12:30 PM Four Corners – Meet at the Amphitheater
1:00 PM Wheel Barrow Race – Meet at the Amphitheater
1:30 PM Lemonade Break – Meet at the Amphitheater
2:00 PM Checkers Tournament – Sign up beforehand at the Camp Store by 1:00 PM. Sign up early, there are only a limited number of spaces! Meet at the Camp Store.
2:30 PM Slip-n-Slide – Meet at the Amphitheater
3:30 PM Sponge Relay – Meet at the Amphitheater
4:00 PM Water Balloon Toss – Meet at the Amphitheater
4:30 PM Tie-Dye Bandana Bash – Meet at the Amphitheater
5:00 PM Cup Splash Relay – Meet at the Amphitheater
5:30 PM Scavenger Hunt – Meet at the Amphitheater
7:30 PM Magic Show with Mister Mystery! – How does he do it? It’s a mystery! This amazing magic show will have you gasping in wonder, scratching your head, and laughing out loud. Definitely family-friendly entertainment at its finest. Until 8:30 PM at the Park Amphitheater, relocated to Picnic Shelter 3 in the Campground in case of bad weather. FREE ADMISSION! Donations encouraged.
9:00 PM Campground Campfire – Meet SIRs Bailey and Chloe at the Campground Fire Ring for riddles, stories, and s’mores. Don’t forget to bring a flashlight for heading back to your campsite after dark.
